I rotate my pictures. I swear I do. And save them in the new orientation. And then I upload them and they are back to their original sideways-ness! Help! I’m making everyone turn their monitors 90 degrees! Washington, DC |

What program are you using? Some of the more basic photo viewing software rotates pictures so you can see them, but isn’t really changing orientation. Lomita (near Los Angeles), CA |

Oops. Forgot to check back. I’m using a basic viewer for Mac, which sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. I’d blame it on the program, too, but I already double-checked it by trying it in iPhoto. Washington, DC |

From what I understand of Viewer type programs, they don’t actually change the orientation of the photo. They just rotate it for viewing on your computer. You need to use an actual photo editing program such as Photoshop, Paint, etc. Lomita (near Los Angeles), CA |

I’m assuming the basic viewer on Mac you’re talking about is Preview. When you crop/rotate a photo with Preview it’ll save to a new file, so maybe you were uploading the old file and not the new one? Miami, FL |
