Gucci, Prada, Guess, Luis Vuitton, Coach – I think it’s all ugly. I think I’m supposed to be drooling over it, but I sure as hell wouldn’t buy it even if I had the money. Am I the only one? Interlachen, Florida |

I feel that way about MOST brand name items. Except for L.A.M.B, Juicy Cotour, toki doki, and Takuya Angel. Peoria, AZ |

well i love brand name things, but i dont like paying for them, so i go to goodwill, and search and search and search. Usually the high end brand names last forever, some might have outlasted their previous owner. Thats why some are at goodwill. But no way in hell would i ever spend more than 100 bucks on a purse. :) I dont ever have to either, cause im a great goodwill shopper, awesome rehasher, and my dad owns 5 consignment shops in florida. lol I think its unusual to buy clothes that are brand new. :) Jacksonville, FL |

Btw, congrats on your recent find! There are definitely some good consignment shops here, I just don’t prefer what they have. I was thinking about that recently – If I had a child who NEEDED to have name brand things, I’d totally do her shopping at consignment without her knowing. “Hey honey, I got these jeans for you when I was out…” Interlachen, Florida |

For me, it’s not really about the name. If its a good item that I feel is worth it, I’ll buy it. I work hard for my money so I can buy things that I want. Kansas City, Missouri |

I don’t like a name blazing across me, but if it is good quality I’ll buy it. No logo crud though! St. Louis, MO |

I refuse to pay to be somebody’s billboard, unless it’s for something i really want to advertise. I think the only things i ever wear with names on them are the Life is Good line (LOVE THEM!), and things by Jeep and Harley Davidson. Otherwise, i’m not advertising for you across my bosoms. ;) North Adams, MA |

All intellectual property ethics aside, That’s one thing I miss about being in Brazil. They had replica everything for super cheap. Maybe an extra 10-15% more than regular stuff. Lasts pretty well too. I still have most of my (faux) Dolce & Gabbana stuff. Many times the designer stuff is really really cute; but I couldn’t sprend several hundred dollars for one piece in my closet. Germantown, MD |

There are a few brands that I like and target. For me, its all about style and quality – be it Marc Jacobs or an indie designer. I just dont like logos or visible names. I try to get clothing used or as cheap as possible but dont mind spending extra money sometimes too – especially for handbags and shoes. My tastes doesnt change so I want it to last forever or at least be able to sell, trade or give it away. Berkeley, California |

I’m not into any name brand or any brand in particular. I buy what-ever that looks nice on me. I don’t check the brand when shopping. Some expensive name-brand looks very cute and some cheap name-brand looks just as cute. Just because it’s expensive; doesn’t mean that it will make me look & feel better. I’m still me after-all. No brand is going to change that. I definitely would never want a brand to change how I feel that day. (but again, some people feels better when they wear certain brand, that if it works for them then good for them) As for me, I like to be in control over my happiness and not leave it to the advertisements/commercials that I see everywhere…. but everyone is different and that’s what keeps this world go going….and keep some people very rich…LOL SHERIDAN, IN |

I agree. You should buy whatever looks good and not be bothered with whether it has a brand name or not. |
