“So, um, listenâ?¦ _ thought your offer was kind of lame. It happens, thereâ??s really not much we can do about that.” I was amazed when I found that when I declined an offer, this is what the person who sent the offer got as a reply. It’s very rude. I would never refer to someone’s request to trade with me as “lame.” Is there a way to decline an offer without subjecting another member to nasty editorializing? Could the receiver write his or her own reply…something like, “Thank you for your offer, but I would rather not trade” or “Rather than that trade, how about this one:_?” Improving communication would make the swapping experience more enjoyable. I think that’s a good idea. I kow several people have mentioned this too. I know you can click Negotiate and it wont say anything like that, but still. It would be nice to be able to type your own decline message and have it saved? So you wouldnt have to type it each time maybe. Hmm something to think about =] Blanco, TX |

One way to get around this is instead of just declining the swap, do the negotiate. This takes your items out of the swap and also allows you to respond with a comment. Hope this helps. Fort Collins, Colorado |
