OK, i don’t want to be sounding like a bitch, but i’m going to start this forum where we can share our experiences with other members about swaplifters. i think it is fair to say not to post anyone’s name that you have not tried to contact numerous times. who knows, maybe this will even motivate some swaplifters to come forward with some kind of explanation. i’ve only been burned once, but a user named rebecca/ladyrogue:
http://www.rehashclothes.com/ladyRogue
i shipped her stuff on good faith, even though i had better kharma..and she took forever, then finally emailed me saying she was short on $, but would mail things the following week. a month + went by, and after several emails, i did receive part of what she owed me, an eyeshadow, but she did not ship me my bcbg perfume!!i have reached out with several emails, but have heard nothing since. i also know from other correspondence that other members have experienced this with her as well… |

Same with Rebecca/Rogue, though I told her she was shipping first and never did. Ditto with Marlo. =( I left comments on both of their pages to help warn others. |

Yes, sadly Lady Rogue has fallen out of favor. She will be banished to the Land of No Future Trades. Hopefully, all she was able to get away with was the set of French Textbooks that I sent her on good faith… ah cheri, j’espere tu apprend francais maintenant! |

By now, we all know that Miss Laura Pritchard of Ramsgate (aka Louise, Lee) has built a nice wardrobe from our closets. She is out of the reach of our legal rights, but I’ll continue to have some fun with her address and if anyone wants her telephone # just email me! P.S. I fully intend to sound like a bitch… (nod to Erin!) LOL |

Haha! Nice. |

beware swaplifters, ye shall suffer the wrath! |
|
|
From this moment on, any activities done upon a swaplifter will be called “The Wrath”. |

Remind me to never, ever double cross any of you. |

How about admin blocking the IP’s of known swaplifters to prevent them from signing up again under a different alias? |
|
|
I second Grace’s idea! |

We don’t block the IPs directly due to the static nature of it. If we block 192.168.1.1, every user with a dynamic IP in that network (in this case, ISP) will be blocked. Instead what we do is log all IPs, “greylist” them and cross check with the vicinity of their address, which is something you can’t really fake when you’re dealing with necessitating a receiving address.
Besides, anyone who has the dedication to scam others on a site like this would learn how to hide their IP behind a proxy after 37 seconds of Googling. |
